Random Ramblings

Coco Key Waterbury, CT is a great place for birthday parties!

For those of you that missed my first post, Coco Key Waterbury CT, is a brand new Water Resort and Indoor Water Park at the Holiday Inn on East Main Street, Waterbury. The park is having its grand opening this Thursday night (October 3rd), and is currently booking birthday parties.

I was lucky enough to get an early invite to the water park before the grand opening, and after spending some time there I can tell you that it is simply amazing! If you have kids and you want them to have the birthday party of a lifetime, take them to Coco Key! It is in your best interest to contact them early as a representative from the park has informed me that birthday times are booking fast! Since the park is just opening they are offering some great deals on birthday party packages as well as stay and play packages.

  1. A Disappointed Mother Says:

I just recently visited Coco Key and was very disappointed ( New Years Eve Day). When my daughter and I get to the waterpark, which was not much after their opening time, there were no lockers available. We were told to leave our stuff at either a table or in the very tiny cubby holes that were inside the waterpark. For the amount of people that the waterpark can hold there should have been a lot more lockers available. The staffing was insufficient to handle the volume of people who were trying to order lunch at the waterpark’s snack bar, we would have had to wait about an hour to get lunch, like most children my daughter could not wait that long. The restaurant that is in the hotel was understaffed and could not handle serving those who wanted to eat there either, which I also heard from other parents who were there the same day. Maybe it was just a bad day to go to the waterpark, but it doesn’t make me want to return any time soon because it was not a real good experience for myself or for my daughter.

Thanks for the comment on your recent trip to Coco Key Water Resort in Waterbury CT. My guess is that the park was extremely busy being it was a holiday time, and they probably had some call outs from the staff. I don’t have any affiliation with the water park or the hotel, but can understand your feelings.

Hopefully your kids had some fun on the water slides, and maybe next time things will run smoother for you and your family!

I recently attended a b-day party w/ my son. From what I understand it’s not cheap.I thought the water & air temp was too cold.I was freezing & my sons lips turned blue. There was not enough changing rooms.I cramed into a bathroom stall(yuck!) w/ my 6 yr old son to change.Poor guy had to stand w/ his face to the wall while I dressed.I wasn’t about to send my little boy alone into the mens room. The room where we had the pizza & cake was too small for the 3 tables that the adults had to stand & shuffle around to stay out of the way of staff bringing in juice cake etc. Also $5 for a locker is crazy. For the price every adult + maybe 1 kid should be given a locker. Are we to trust our things laying around in this day & age? I don’t think so. I’m just glad I went as someones guest.I would not spend that kind of money when after an hour my son & I couldn’t stand the cold any longer. If he would have been ok I would have sucked it up but he was turning into an ice pop.
I hope these coments are taken into consideration.
Thank you for taking my lengthly critisism.
