Montauk Monster. Pug, Turtle, Raccoon. Yet another followup!

More montauk monster mayhem. Speculations as to what this thing really was are still turning up on the internet. The latest one that I saw was that the animal was a dog, more specifically a pug. The two pictures below are from http://forgetomori.com/2008/skepticism/montauk-monster-raccoon-or-pug/, and show a comparison of a pug next to the supposed “monster” that washed up on the beaches of Montauk. Note this is a different picture of the monster than in my previous posts, and is supposed to be the underside of the same creature.

If you look at this picture it is convincing at first glance, but when compared to the montauk monster picture in previous posts, you can tell that the paws and finger like digits don’t match a pug. The turtle theory has been all but debunked since they don’t have teeth. As of right now if this is a real animal, I am banking on raccoon.  However I still believe this is merely a hoax, and part of a large viral marketing campaign that has been exucted to perfection - Bravo viral guru, Bravo! Let the rampant speculation continue…
